We sat closely huddled together, the 4 of us. The rest had gone off after dinner and drinks. It was late but nobody was in a hurry to leave though it was a work day the next day.

We bared our hearts and souls that night. We reminisced about the past, shared stories of each other’s growing pains and revealed dreams that no one knew about. Dreams, that had come to pass and those that had not. Often we would look at each other with awe … Eyes that seemed to say “I didn’t know that ..? ”

For a long time we lived apart. No contact whatsoever. There are gaps and question marks in various stages of our lives caused not so much by memory lapses but by our not being there. Yet there were no accusations that night. Questions of ‘where were you when…. ?’ did not arise.

We all made new friends along the way but strangely enough, through it all, we knew for certain that despite the absence, we were still friends… that we will always be friends. Neither time, nor distance, or even death for that matter, can take away something that is embedded deeply in the heart...

Now I am beginning to understand and appreciate this verse ….

… For friendship must make no demand, but to comfort, love and understand...

The same girl inside of me

Some things never change cuz no matter how many years have flown by and we have evolved from caterpillars to butterflies or ugly ducklings to swans LOL or teenagers to adults , we are the still the same person inside the layers of flab LOLOL.

I realized that this morning when i was reading a female magazine and found that i was doing the very same thing i did decades ago! As a teenager i was always called a dreamer, by my teachers , lecturers and parents. i did not have big dreams but i enjoyed little fantasies any little girl can conjure up!

My mother was good with her hands and she makes pretty dresses, flowers, hats etc. So she had a ton of fashion magazines and dressmaking books. I love looking at those and as i flip thru every single page i have a little game LOL Its like making a wish :) and i imagined i had a fairy god mother who could grant me any wish! I could pick out one dress from every page of the fashion books and the dress would be mine. I had a lot of fun choosing and deciding which dress i wanted :) And sometimes it would be faces that i can choose from, or hair styles!
This morning as i leaved thru a magazine i did the exact same thing :) There were pretty gowns worn by Hollywood celebrities and the decision was not that easy. I finally settled for a Versace gown. i went on to look at faces and hair styles. The Caucasian celebrities look pretty but i still like Asian looks :)

I have made my decision , i will ask my fairy god mother for pretty dresses but i can keep the same face for as long as i live ( without the crow's feet, eye bags and wrinkles, thank you!)

E-xactly the same

Easy Peasy Sushi

Whenever it comes to weekend meals we are always spoilt for choice. That's the norm over here in Malaysia :) And when u have several mouths to feed , it makes it even harder cuz every mouth comes with a piece of brain attached to it! But what makes it even worse is the fact that these mouths coupled with the brains, have a heart that is accompanied by simple courtesy and human conscience! So we end up with a discussion that can go on and on for hours .... No, u decide! No, its up to you. i can eat anything! Eventually after several hours of that , the tummies get hungrier and even the most polite and patient of lips can quiver with resentment. Thus the meal ends up with everyone not so happy to eat after all !! LOLOL!So it must have been a happy Sunday lunch for everyone today when we all handed the decision to Dad :) and he didn't fuss at all. He just said we are all going to Aeon and having Japanese! We walked straight into Sakae Sushi and even tho the place was packed , it didn't take us long to get a table. They have computerized ordering in there , so that made it even more pleasant. Everything was just a click away. We had some sushi, and since its the 1st Sunday of the month , they have some special kiddies meals. The biggest kid and the littlest one took some of those from the conveyor belt. Surprisingly they were quite good. Of course we had our usual temakis or hand rolls as well as some Maki. The promotion this month are the soft shell crabs so we had that too. And we shared a Ramen as well :)We must have spent a long time in there cuz we saw people come in after us and left to pay for the bill and we were still ordering!!! That's the problem with that computerized ordering . Its way too easy and convenient ~ we don't have to wait for the waiters or wave to catch their attention!!! The mouse waiter was way too efficient!!! LOL!
Which do u prefer? LOL!
