A not so exciting month for me...some people going holiday here n there

I haven’t written for a while now, sorry. So much for my intention to contribute a post a day. Maluation only!

The past few weeks have been uneventful - very quiet. When I get off from work, I am half-dead from fatigue. Sign of old age or could it be something more sinister? Nights are mostly spent alternating between watching TV or DVDS and the occasional dinners with friends or family members. At present, I am watching “Heroes” on DVD. Should complete the whole of Season 1 by tonight.

The previous Sunday I went on a shopping spree with E and her girls. Their homecoming is a major event for us aunties too because with their return, we have more food related programs, additional short trips as well as our yearly karaoke session!! (Whereby the aunties will sing the same songs they sang the previous year and the year before that etc.)

Other than that, my other outings included a dinner with clients at Sri Ayutthaya in USJ 11. The food was expensive but taste-wise, so-so only. I liked the green curry though because it wasn’t pedas. Of course the ambiance was nice and the waiter, a Nepalese, was rather good-looking. The whole evening they put on those Thai music… tang tang ting tang ting … (reminding me of my coming Bangkok trip hee..hee..)

Then there was dinner to celebrate Michelle’s birthday at a restaurant near E’s place called Soon Kee. Hah… I must say the food was really good! Cheap too. Everyone was happy with the dishes served that night so much so we are going on 12th July again just to try their other dishes. We noticed other customers eating pork knuckles!! What else to order leh??

Obviously I am looking forward to July because Genting mali !!! Duit pun mesti mali. Go with expectations to win and you surely will. A word of advice, don’t be greedy. Leave as soon as you make some money. No point hanging around hoping to make more. Of course this rule doesn’t apply to me because I ENJOY playing slots.

Also, I think July we are going to make a trip to Tanjung Sepat, main stop – Arowana plus seafood. Must ask Grace when she wants to go. I very gian eat the krepek. Likely it’ll be just Grace, Percy & me. Anybody mau ikut?

what a holiday it was

welcome back to E's No. 1

As I have mentioned in my earlier blog, I was looking forward to spending my holidays in Bangkok from June 5 - 9, 5D/4N trip. Well overall, it was fun as we travelled in a group but overall it was tiring as we had too much packed in and trying to cover as much as we could during those days. Phew..... and with such a big group, everyone wants to do what they want and at times.. @#$%&^ do fly among ourselves, though not directly but discreetly.. :-)

Anyway, my young ones was looking forward to their 1st overseas stint and also because it is also their "Ungrounded" day, on the day we left for Bangkok. They were "grounded" for a month, NO cartoons n NO games.... So this trip is like a gift to them for completing their punishment.

Managed to get them from their beauty sleep in the early morning, 5 am and by the time, all our us were ready, our transport was also at the door step waiting to ferry us to the airport. Each group have arrange their own transport and will meet up in the airport. We all checked in as a group of 14 (adults + children) and with our boarding pass we checked through immigration and soon enough we were all waiting for the plane to arrive. Everyone was excited as some of us were going overseas for the 1st time and some was going for a holiday for the 1st time. Yeap, 1st ever holiday in their life time. There were questions asked like, eh, this boarding pass will be used for our return trip back from BKK ?? We are waiting at the wrong waiting area !

Anyway, we arrived safely in BKK and made it through immigration. Our guide greeted us at the airport and fi was the 1st person to sport him and basically run to him as she found him to cute !! Cant blame her lah still single and available mah. But soon she was making remarks about J on the way he walks. She thinks J is not a "straight" guy (if you know what i mean). Well, whether he is straight or otherwise, as long as he takes us around, who cares. FYI, he looks a little bit like our Mawi. Any Mawi fan out there ???

We visited some of BKK famous landmark and places of interest. We managed to squeeze some time for shopping and manage to get 1 foot massage, offer price of RM18.00 / 45 mins. Good deal, hor ? Coincidently, BKK is on sales. So everything is on sales, including massage.

BKK is one busy city but the best part is their public toilet. You will never ever imagine how these citizens of BKK manage to keep their public toilet soooooooo clean and "smelless". It is a crying shame to us, Malaysians so called better then them but dont know how to keep or use the toilet. Even the road side stall's toilet is clean. Aiyoooooooo.... macam mana kita tada tahu guna kah ??

In between our days in BKK, there were some tense moment among us but we manage to keep our cool out of respect for the elders. Otherwise, all the "char" words will surely be flying among ourselves and secondly we the young ones must learn to be patient (nyan - in cantonese). By the end of the week, i dont call this holiday but rather stressful outing. Thank god, the children were all very well behaved and didnt throw any tantrum or demands. We throughly enjoyed the food. We had cruise tour along Chao Praya river with buffet dinner on board. The dinner was superb with western, japanese and thai cruisine. Adults paid RM130 each while the children was 1/2 price. That was one expensive dinner but worth it lah - for the experience. Hehehe.....
On the 2nd day dinner, we had german food. Wow.. the pork knuckles was superb. Much better than our Euro deli back home. The price, you never imagine soooooooooo cheap....... Try lah.. take a while guess ?? Well,,,,,, to feed all 14, we only paid about RM400+ this includes fruit juice and german beer + 3 pork knuckles.

Third nite, we had buffet dinner at Saiyoke hotel, the tallest in BKK. They were having promo of RM55.00 / pax from their normal price of RM100.00. We were one of the earliest guests to arrived and the last few to leave... :-) Eat till we drop. My girl said "Aiyo, my stomach like going to explode". hahaha.... u know what that means lah. S (my other fren) girls, dont normally take a lot of food but that night practically everyone is eating like never eaten for days. They served lobster, crabs, prawns, fish, sushi, lamb chop, noodles, soup.. the list goes on and on.. the spread is worth the money spent. After dinner, we went to their revolving observation deck on the 83rd floor and we saw BKK at night with all the lights on, oh what a beautiful sight. FYI, ticket for the observation deck is about RM25.00 without dinner. We paid RM55.00 with dinner throw in.. good deal, right ??

The fourth nite we had a simple dinner - local steam boat with cute clay pot. We had fried rice and veggies and local fish cake and it only cost RM100+

Next day, home sweet home.

P/s. we are planning for another trip back to BKK - solely shopping and without children.... PLANNING....... - procrastinating, I hope Not.

Old books for sale!

It's father's day but we did all the Father's day stuff yesterday to avoid the crowds. So my Sunday was spent in a different way. It started very early in the morning , with F arriving at 9.30am. We went to Amcorp mall first to get rid of some of our used story books. We always leave them at this used books store , but this time they said that they are no longer accepting any as they have way too many books now. We collected in cash what they had already sold. We thought we would be stranded with the books , but one friendly lady at the mall told us about a white lady at the flea market who might want to take in our books for a small price. So we looked for her and it was not easy. We knew her name was Mary , so i stood at a corner to safeguard the books while no1 & 3 walked around , to hunt Mary down!!!! They found her and we dumped our books at her feet , she was amazed that we brought so many! But she went thru them and finally gave us 100Rm for all of them! i think that's a great deal so we took that :) and left. We went to Summit after that , and shopped at B point , a new outlet selling branded stuff but i didn't buy anything there . I was there on Friday and had bought a belt there. We ate lunch at a Thai restaurant and it was yummy :) After lunch we went to a warehouse sale at Unza and bought some shower gel and laundry detergent. Then we went to macro to look for something that was not on sale yet. We had been given the wrong info , and the item we were suppose to get wont be on sale till the 20th!!! What a waste of time!!!! but we got to buy other stuff , and no3 bought snacks and sweets!!! By the time we got home it was 5pm ..... which means we had been out for almost 8hrs!!! that's power shopping for sure!!! Phew!!! soooooooooooo tired!

Been too long!!

i can't remember when i last added a post in here. Its been quite busy for me , plus lots of procrastination!!! I think its been 2 whole weeks ~ so let me just summarise my whole busy fortnight in here. Basically its all those dance workshops , a couple of extra dance classes in a fitness centre ( a favour for a friend) , and then compiling new dances and songs, and more dance workshops. Phew! In the midst of all that, i still managed to meet up with the FEMS for some get together meals and 2 sessions of de-stressing 'chaip-koot' . One was pre-planned , courtesy of S , and the other was impromptu ( thanks to Percy!)

S is still away for a holiday , she should be home tonight . I hope she had a great time with her kids and friends. its a much needed break for her ! We will probably meet up tomorrow for we have yet another rendezvous of the scrumptious kind! Slurps and drools !!! Shhhhhhhhhhhhh, our little secret of the crustacean kind!

The school holidays are coming to an end so my no.3 is making full use of her last weekend of freedom. but it will be the start of the summer holidays for those studying abroad in Europe , so my other 2 kids will be heading home this month. One is due to arrive next week if all goes well , and the other should be homeward bound by the end of the month. My body is telling me i should start getting ready for some bigger clothes ....die die die! Or should i say DIET DIET DIET!

Back to the dance workshop in Berjaya Times Square, it was some sort of a disappointment. The promise of international dance instructors was not fulfilled ~ schedules were changed at the last minute due to the bad response i guess. I only stayed for the 1st 2 sets of the dance workshop and left after the rumba . The jive was nothing to shout about , i learned that while planting my bum on the chair as it was way too basic for me!! It got boring after the rumba so i left and went to Petaling street instead for food!!! The heavy rain spoilt my plans and we made a dash for a taxi and came home by 5.30pm! Soooooooooo tired !!! But i made it to the gym anyway , sigh ..... DIET DIET DIET or else DIE DIE DIE!
