what a holiday it was

welcome back to E's No. 1

As I have mentioned in my earlier blog, I was looking forward to spending my holidays in Bangkok from June 5 - 9, 5D/4N trip. Well overall, it was fun as we travelled in a group but overall it was tiring as we had too much packed in and trying to cover as much as we could during those days. Phew..... and with such a big group, everyone wants to do what they want and at times.. @#$%&^ do fly among ourselves, though not directly but discreetly.. :-)

Anyway, my young ones was looking forward to their 1st overseas stint and also because it is also their "Ungrounded" day, on the day we left for Bangkok. They were "grounded" for a month, NO cartoons n NO games.... So this trip is like a gift to them for completing their punishment.

Managed to get them from their beauty sleep in the early morning, 5 am and by the time, all our us were ready, our transport was also at the door step waiting to ferry us to the airport. Each group have arrange their own transport and will meet up in the airport. We all checked in as a group of 14 (adults + children) and with our boarding pass we checked through immigration and soon enough we were all waiting for the plane to arrive. Everyone was excited as some of us were going overseas for the 1st time and some was going for a holiday for the 1st time. Yeap, 1st ever holiday in their life time. There were questions asked like, eh, this boarding pass will be used for our return trip back from BKK ?? We are waiting at the wrong waiting area !

Anyway, we arrived safely in BKK and made it through immigration. Our guide greeted us at the airport and fi was the 1st person to sport him and basically run to him as she found him to cute !! Cant blame her lah still single and available mah. But soon she was making remarks about J on the way he walks. She thinks J is not a "straight" guy (if you know what i mean). Well, whether he is straight or otherwise, as long as he takes us around, who cares. FYI, he looks a little bit like our Mawi. Any Mawi fan out there ???

We visited some of BKK famous landmark and places of interest. We managed to squeeze some time for shopping and manage to get 1 foot massage, offer price of RM18.00 / 45 mins. Good deal, hor ? Coincidently, BKK is on sales. So everything is on sales, including massage.

BKK is one busy city but the best part is their public toilet. You will never ever imagine how these citizens of BKK manage to keep their public toilet soooooooo clean and "smelless". It is a crying shame to us, Malaysians so called better then them but dont know how to keep or use the toilet. Even the road side stall's toilet is clean. Aiyoooooooo.... macam mana kita tada tahu guna kah ??

In between our days in BKK, there were some tense moment among us but we manage to keep our cool out of respect for the elders. Otherwise, all the "char" words will surely be flying among ourselves and secondly we the young ones must learn to be patient (nyan - in cantonese). By the end of the week, i dont call this holiday but rather stressful outing. Thank god, the children were all very well behaved and didnt throw any tantrum or demands. We throughly enjoyed the food. We had cruise tour along Chao Praya river with buffet dinner on board. The dinner was superb with western, japanese and thai cruisine. Adults paid RM130 each while the children was 1/2 price. That was one expensive dinner but worth it lah - for the experience. Hehehe.....
On the 2nd day dinner, we had german food. Wow.. the pork knuckles was superb. Much better than our Euro deli back home. The price, you never imagine soooooooooo cheap....... Try lah.. take a while guess ?? Well,,,,,, to feed all 14, we only paid about RM400+ this includes fruit juice and german beer + 3 pork knuckles.

Third nite, we had buffet dinner at Saiyoke hotel, the tallest in BKK. They were having promo of RM55.00 / pax from their normal price of RM100.00. We were one of the earliest guests to arrived and the last few to leave... :-) Eat till we drop. My girl said "Aiyo, my stomach like going to explode". hahaha.... u know what that means lah. S (my other fren) girls, dont normally take a lot of food but that night practically everyone is eating like never eaten for days. They served lobster, crabs, prawns, fish, sushi, lamb chop, noodles, soup.. the list goes on and on.. the spread is worth the money spent. After dinner, we went to their revolving observation deck on the 83rd floor and we saw BKK at night with all the lights on, oh what a beautiful sight. FYI, ticket for the observation deck is about RM25.00 without dinner. We paid RM55.00 with dinner throw in.. good deal, right ??

The fourth nite we had a simple dinner - local steam boat with cute clay pot. We had fried rice and veggies and local fish cake and it only cost RM100+

Next day, home sweet home.

P/s. we are planning for another trip back to BKK - solely shopping and without children.... PLANNING....... - procrastinating, I hope Not.
