Last night, Grace, one of the few 'fans' of our blog commented " eh, your blog died-ed ah? " Ahem ... hear ye hear ye ... the contributors for this blog are currently on sabbatical due to one reason or another but come September, things will be back to normal. This is a promise, ya!Oui, FEMS, take note!!
I have recently taken an interest in the political going-ons in our country which means I have been reading blogs rather than writing my own. Malaysia Today, Rantings by MM etc etc all make for good & informative readings for behind-the political-scene issues not reported (fully) in our dailies. It's disheartening to read such blogs which paints a non-too-rosy future for Malaysia and Malaysians alike.
Whenever you watch Yasmin's Ahmad's commercials, doesn't it touch you to see Malaysians of different races interacting as one? It is my belief that this is possible - that the average guy on the street, whatever his race, do get along with his neighbours or colleagues of different races. Throughout my life, I have had Malays and Indians as close friends. But there are people out there to create chaos which have heightened disharmony, disatisfaction & distrust among the people and the sad part is, that they are supposedly among the leaders of the country.
However, being the optimistic Sagitarrian that I am, I'd like to believe that along with the rotten eggs, there are many, many influential people who love our country and who will fight tooth and nail to safeguard the rights of the people. They, together with the die-hard small fry patriots like yours truly may be able to salvage what's left of a bad situation and revive our languished country.
We pray that there may come a time when all Malaysians will be proud to proclaim that they are Malaysians .... not because we have the tallest building, longest or biggest what-nots but simply because there is peace & prosperity among the people that the world can only envy. Happy 50th Merdeka, Malaysia!!
