The journey of Food

For those of you who are ready to embark on the journey of food, this will come in handy if u make a quick weekend stop in Ipoh. Its the haven for food lovers and being bred there for the first 20 years of my life, i wish to share my favorites with you.

Breakfasts :
1. Foh San restaurant for Dim Sum. It has a new location now but same la, still as packed! Go as early as 6am to get the good stuff.
2. Canning Garden Curry mee ( walking distance from my house) Its a bit more pricey but the "liew" comes in abundance.
3. Canning Garden Chee Cheong Fun ( i am biased) is at the corner shop. Small little stall but so yummy u would want to eat 2 portions!
4. Char Kuay Teow in Nam Heong (old town) This is where the famous Old Town White Coffee originates from.
5. Egg custard in Tian Chun ( house of mirrors) Also famous for their kuay teow soup. Pretty packed on weekends.

Lunches:
1. Yong Tau Foo in Pasir Pinji ( Tai Shi Kiok) Can u figure out what that was? Haiyah, under big tree lah! I love the sar kok!!! And the juices like dragon fruit comes in huge glasses, so quenching.
2.Crispy roast pork in Wong Fee Kee, restaurant, Kampung Bercham. My latest discovery :) when i was back there 2 weeks ago. Sooooooooooo good, i ordered the siew yoke 3 times LOL
3. Beacon Point in Ipoh Garden. Its Ipoh secret for Western food. They have a website and u will drool when u venture in there!
4. Tau Fu Fah at Funny Mountain. In New town Ipoh , this is a drive-in :) and u can sit in the comforts of your car and enjoy these soya goodies.
Dinners:
1. Bean Sprouts and Chicken (Nga Choy Kai) This is always on the top of my list. The one in Cowan Street is good but for more varieties like fish and pork balls, my fave is Onn Kee, next to Low Wong.
2.Gourmet Square in Ipoh Garden has so many choices u will go gila trying to decide what to eat.
3. Tong Sui Kai near Sam Tet Chinese school is a nice haunt too.

I know there are more but really, i cannot go on and not short circuit my keyboard. For now, let's just dream of the scrumptious fare till we plant our fat butts on Ipoh ground. And I don't want to post pics either. I am not a tease!!!
