another drama

hehe.... today very semangat (As D will put it... :-) )

So, this is Part II of the "Drama" minggu ini. Ting ting.......

This story is about my son, W. (angelic W)

Last Saturday morning, while washing his school pants, I notice some paper inside his pocket. When I took out the piece of paper, wah... I found RM50.00. Finders keeper, hor ??? Hhmm.... where did he get the money from. Well, most of weekend, W will get up early even though it is not a school day. As usual, W was up and watching TV even though his sleepy eyes has yet to completely open. So, I questioned him about the RM50.00. (Another Oscar for him......) I was told that he got the money from one of my dressing table drawers. (There were three drawers). Why did he need to take so much money to school ? He said the money was suppose to pay for his Art class fees. (Yeap, Art class again). I remember I gave him the money for Art class last week. As usual, being the MCC (mung cha cha), he cant remembered whether he paid the fees and if not, he cant remember where was the money. So, he decided to take bring along the RM50.00 just in case, he lost the money the 1st time. FYI, he has lost RM150.00 meant for school fees when he left the money in his table drawer. So he was forewarned, the next time he loses any money, I will NOT pay anymore. (Is it good or bad, to threaten children this way.... ??). Ah ha.. this time he played smart, he was well prepared.

The best part was, I dont keep any cash in either these 3 drawers, now where did he exactly got the money from ?? I told him, mummy knows what are being kept inside these drawers (bluff lah..hahaha... - how to remember so many things, ai ya). There were no cash kept inside the drawers. Where did he get the cash from. He says the money was from Xmas angpow from Kong Kong Lee teak. !! I said, the angpow have been bank into his savings account in the bank ! Finally, he admitted to taking the money from my wallet ! Hah !, that is consider stealing. I pretend to call the police. He was quite calm though. Not me (fuming mad as usual). While doing the laundry, I grumble and grumble and W just sat there quietly. (TV was switched off by me) so that full attention is given to me. ! Beh tar han.... no cane to be found at home, I had to use the cloth hanger to smack his hands. Twice for his left hand that took the money. Ouch.... very painful as his face change the moment he kena smack but didnt cry lah. Teary eyes only. All this drama on, S was quietly sitting in the room.

I explained to W, he did two wrong things, one - stealing and two - telling lies. For that, no TV for whole month. !! (till June 5). When they arrived my mum's house, mum was surprised how come the TV was untouch ! She asked S why ?? She said because of W, she was also banned from watching TV for a month. (hahahaha.....). Do you know, they actually can tahan not watching TV, the whole day, Saturday and Sunday. Otherwise, the eyes are just practically stuck on the TV screen. I hope they will keep up and tahan till next month. They were also warned that if Popo is watching her programme in the hall, they have to go inside the room. Whoever, caught watching TV will have their eyes gouge out. (evil mummy??).

Tell me, if I am doing the right thing ??

drama bulan ini

As the headings reads "Drama Bulan ini"....... normally it reads as "Drama minggu ini". Mine is a little bit different. Firstly, cos I have a pair of twins and between us, we do have many "dramas" and lots of wuuuuuuu.. and the ahhhhhhhhhhsss.
I was suppose to pen something about my girl, S about a month or so but didnt get a chance to as I was busy with work and other things. I decided not to say anything in the blog. Though, E asked me to. But the latest "drama: with my boy, W make me want to say it all... ;-P
The story goes like this........ This is about S, my girl.
They started the Art class in March. No, I didnt force them. They volunteered themselves. Every Thursday, both of them attend Art class in school after the normal school hours. From 1.30 pm - 3 pm. Everything was going on fine and both enjoyed attending the Art class (well, so I thought lah). After one and the half months of class, my girl pre-mediated her exit from Art class by doing her "Drama". Yeap, and the "Oscar" goes to S........ (clap hands, pleasssseee). I was told that the particular week, that wasnt any Art class. Reasons known to both of them. So, I would pick both of them from school as usual about 1.15 pm. When I arrived that particular day, my girl, (being a good girl) was waiting for me (my boy, being boy is always running here and there and everywhere). After putting her school bag in the car, I went back into the school compound and waited for my boy to appear. (Parents are NOT allowed to park inside the school compound). I waited and waited under the hot blazing sun but I couldnt see him. (fuming and puffing at this stage). So I decided to wait in the car for him. I questioned my girl about her brother and replied she didnt know. After 10 mins in the car, I told my girl to look out for W and off she went like an angel (ah.. hah...). She came back into the car and reported she couldnt find him. FYI, we waited for more than 30 mins for W. (both in and out of the car). Suddenly, anger turned to panic. I called back and checked with my mum and when she said that W has not arrived home.... ai ya....all the bad thoughts suddenly rushed into my head. Did something bad happened or was he kidnapped ...????!!! Called my other friend (who normally picks them up twice a week)also confirmed that she didnt pick up W. Check with another one and the same answer. The best part is, W has informed S of his intention to attend the Art class as S has decided to skip (Unknown to the mummy lah.... :-X) and S can go along with straight face that she doesnt know whereabouts of W.
I decided to park my car in the school compound (with permission from the security guard). I salute this guy coz he can remember most of the parent / pupil faces. He was also surprised about my boy "missing". I told S that we have to park the car and go around the school looking for W. She let out her displeasure.. "Ai yo.........." and I angrily said, "hello, your brother is missing and you can "ai yo" (&^%$#). OK to cut the story short, we finally found him, happily attending Art class !! (the classroom was situated behind the main block) - I didnt look there.
Here comes the finale, just because S doesnt want to attend the Art class anymore, S tries to drag the time or trying to play time with me. I practically lost my head when I found out the actual true story. I was screaming and fuming mad inside the car and when we got back home, hell broke loose. I hope S regretted what she did that day as she has been forewarned that she will be disowned if she creates another rackus of such again. I asked why she did that "drama". All she need to do was to tell the truth. Am I so unapproachable or what ???

Remembering Nil

Pictures of Nil before & after grooming

It has been a year since Nil was lost to us. Her loss was attributed to carelessness on my part and I will never be able to shake off this feeling of guilt & remorse. Nil would have been 10 this year.

She was christened Nil by virtue of a fluke. My friends did not pick her as a first choice for me from the litter of pups. They gave me her sister instead and named her Easter. That was because Easter joined my family on Good Friday ‘97. Sadly, Easter did not survive very long. She died on the Monday after Easter Sunday - ran over by a car and ironically, I remember that it was on a 1st of April.

My friends pondered over the wisdom of giving me another dog. They finally decided to give Nil to me and took her to the vet for a bath and vaccination. There they were made to fill in a form and under the ‘name’ column, they had filled in ‘Nil’ and so, that’s how Nil got her name. Later, when Nil became a mother, we affectionately called her “Mummy Girl” or “girl” for short.

When Nil first came to us, she resembled a lamb; unsteady on her feet, lanky and skinny with huge terrified eyes. I told myself not to love her too much lest, like Easter, she was taken prematurely from us. Instead, Nil attached herself to us first and because she was so affectionate, it was impossible not to love her. She loved to be hugged and cuddled and did everything she could to catch your attention. She got along with our other dog, Max, and from their union, gave birth to 5 puppies. We gave them all away but held on to one and named him Fai. Nil doted on her son - that’s why Fai is so fat today, - she always reserved the best portion of her food for him. Everyday Nil would lick clean Fai’s ears and fur. Both mother and son shared a plate of milk every morning and while Fai would drink it up at twice the speed, Nil would lap at hers slowly.

Nil was for most times, gentle. She only got involved in fights whenever Fai fought with our 4th dog, Shaggy, and it seemed as if Fai was going to lose. She slept with 2 paws crossed in front of her, just like a lady. One thing Nil hated though was to take a bath. Fai, on the other hand, is so vain that all I need to say is “who wants to be a handsome boy?” and he would happily follow me into the bathroom. Nil would instinctively know that her turn was up next and she would crawl under a table, chair or somewhere hard to reach. Each time I dragged her out of her hiding place, she would lie on her back and play dead, 4 legs in the air, eyes opened wide and unblinking.

Whenever I was upstairs sitting on the floor, reading the papers, Nil would happily settle down on top of it. She would refuse to budge and it became a game for us – for me to remove the papers from underneath her without tearing. She enjoyed eating fish liver oil. All I had to do was rattle the container where the capsules were kept and she’d come running. However, she refused to swallow any until we take a bite first off every capsule and allow the oil to ooze out.

As much as I miss her, I am sure Fai misses her more. Until today he leaves a portion of his food untouched as was his habit while Nil was with us. Like a human child and its mother, the mother is expected to eat all the leftovers from her child’s plate. Likewise, Nil did the same.

It was a sad day for us when she ran off playfully on the way to the vet. We took turns looking for her for many days and finally accepted the fact that she was lost to us for good.

Everyone says that Nil has likely been adopted by a kind and loving family who has come to love her as we did. I know they are only saying that to console us. I only wish there was some way to ascertain this, to have the assurance that she’s doing fine. The greatest burden to bear is, not knowing for a fact. I want to believe with all my heart that she is happy wherever she is. We miss her tremendously but in the midst of our grief, we are grateful for the 9 years she shared with us. Given a choice to adopt her as a puppy knowing what I know now - that she would finally be lost to us, would I do it again? Yes, without hesitation or regret.

Through it all, I have one consolation and that is, my conscience is clear. Whatever my failings as a human being, I have loved Nil as best as I could. And I know Nil in her own way have always felt secured in that knowledge. I wish her well always wherever she is.
Take care, Girl. F

tanjong sepat

Hhmm... after reading E's n M's blog, now my turn to blog about tanjong sepat. As M mentioned earlier, our group was late and one of them was me. Guess F was being diplomatic about it. Its ok F, as i am used to being late. hahaha.... The reason why i was late was because my car battery went "kaput". The engine just wouldnt start. Ehm... if battery was "dead" the lights wouldnt even lite up. Well, maybe the battery was almost dead but not yet. So, I wasted a couple of minutes trying to start the engine with my sweat coming down my forehead and still the engine wouldnt budge. Finally, I have no choice but to use my other half's company car. Coincidently, his car was also in the workshop. Apparently, major breakdown (aiyooo... the bill will surely make a big hole in our pocket this month). :-( I hope to make some cash during one of our session..... hehehe :-) pleeeezzzzeeeee

Finally, we were all at E's place together with my kids. Quickly offer my sincere apologies to E n F but behold, we werent the only one late (yeah yeah.. phew). The other two of E's friend was also late (hehehe). Infact both of them arrived right after us, and they also apologised to everyone including me. I told them dont worry, we were also late.... hahahaha. Sorry lah, E, you kena from yr sis in law because of us the late comers. As the saying goes, better late than never.

Eerr... back to our trip. Well the trip was ok. I think we had more fun in the car, telling jokes and making fun of the other car. E's two other friends was funny too..... The trip was supposed to be educational but ending up as usual, shopping and buying stuff. We visited the longan farm but didnt even get any close up encounter of the longan tree nor the fruits. Funny, rite ?? The funnier thing was we end up buying bananas and not the longans. The next stop was the krepek factory. Luckily, we control ourselves from just buying anything on the shelves. Finally, the finale stop was where everyone just let loose. Yeap at the Ling-zhi factory. It's just taking and buying, endless. All the "kiasu" ladies cant help ourselves. Especially, the stuff where it (claims) will make us more beautiful and smooth everywhere. It's buy, buy, buy. The most asked question among ourselves was, eh.. sure enough boh ?? Aiyoo when being asked this, hhmm. should i buy somemore or not ??? Eh, you sure wont regret one. FYI, i have been using the lotion, tooth paste and the magic powder on the very next day.

Lastly, the food was so so only lah. Cant complain much, as we only paid RM10.00 each for our lunch which consist of vegies, taufu soup (taste like... ;-(), lai lui har, fried oyster, yam with stew pork, fried fish (dont know what species) and of course our tea. As F mentioned, we tasted better food. Anyway, it's always the 1st time, rite ? Next time, no thank youuuuuuuu.

Dont know if it really works.... the ling-zhi products. Well, have to wait for others to comments. What about you two, E n F ?? Any obvious change so far ??

Mushroom farm

Ok this will be the last post on Tanjung Sepat . I was thinking that since i have the pics i might as well post them here and be done with it. Like F said and so did i in the previous post, the process of cultivating the mushrooms would have been really intriguing IF only we understood more of what the guide said! All i know is there was some spawning process involved. And they use saw dust to pack some cylindrical container. Somehow the saw dust that's originally brown in colour would turn white! I am sure there is some complex procedure involved but in hokkien its all mambo jumbo to me! Hmmm, i think once the saw dust turns white its time for spawning process. If i am not mistaken , there is some steaming involved as well for the development of the spawns!!! ( sorry if i am wrong ~ this "banana" needs to improve on her hokkien skills! And listening skills as well. And while we are at it , maybe i need to be checked for some ADD * symptoms as well!!) * ABBREVIATION FOR Attention Deficit Disorder: a condition in which someone, especially a child, is often in a state of activity or excitement and unable to direct their attention towards what they are doing.
Ok back to the mushrooms, ( see what i mean about ADD!! ) ~ at the mushroom farm , there is also a cooling room . I think after the heating or steaming, the mushrooms start to sprout , and that is when they are left out to grow. I guess the cooling room would be the end process.

There were many types of mushrooms there , tho they really specialise in the lingzhi ones. let's see they have : -

This last pic shows lingzhi mushrooms that were picked and then preserved. They aren't growing from that piece of tree truck. These are just for display and had been polished with a kind of lacquer.
if u want to know more about the mushrooms , here is the link u should visit.
Happy reading :)

Tanjung Sepat (2)

Smart of E to paste some photos on our blog but expect either S or me to do a write up on our trip to Tanjung Sepat on Tues.!! Okay, I’ll start but if I miss out something, please add in your versions. There’s nothing wrong with blogging on the same topic, ok?

We were supposed to be at E’s at 9.30am. From there we were to meet up with another group in a second car and they were supposed to lead the way. Unfortunately we were late and the people in the other car were a bit irritated with us. Most of us in E’s car had not eaten but since we were only ‘followers’, we could only follow and not make a sound even though some of our stomachs were already growling. If we had our way, we would have stopped at Abu’s Kopitiam or somewhere for breakfast. E made S print out a list of places to eat in Tg. Sepat as recommended by somebody in the Allmalaysia.info website and one of the places mentioned was Abu.

The first stop was a Longan Farm where everybody it seems, bought a bunch of bananas. Come to think of it nobody bought longans? By then, the driver from the second car, who was also our guide, had cheered up considerably and she was happily handing out free bananas to fill our near empty stomachs. Thank God for bananas!

Our next stop was to a tapioca chips/crackers factory where everything was freshly cooked / baked or whatever you call it. There were all kinds of flavours and you get to taste everything for free. Obviously each of us bought something to take home.

Our guide then gave us a bit of good news. Next stop was to a coffee shop where the specialty is the “mui-choy” pau which is one of the places we were keen to visit because according to the website, the paus are delicious. None of us had ever tasted mui-choy paus before but I was a bit disappointed as were S & E because our fussy taste buds found the paus sort of ordinary, especially the kaya & tau sah ones. We can’t imagine why there was such a huge crowd waiting to eat the paus in the first place. Grrr … nasib baik the kopi-o was good so it was worth the trip.

From there we proceeded to Ocen Restaurant for our lunch. It was even more crowded than the pau shop!! When we got there, it was shortly after 1.00pm. Not only did we have to wait for a table but by then, the crabs and lala were already sold out.! From what we tasted of the food served at Ocen, S & I feels this place is over hyped because Port Klang offers tastier seafood. Maybe it’s cheaper here, I don’t know or maybe their crabs, which we didn’t get to try, is really good?? And I was so looking forward to scallops ….That up there is a picture of the scallop we didn't get to eat.

Finally the highlight of the day…a mushroom farm called Ganofarm. As E said, someone from the farm took us on a guided tour of the area. E was right, her hokkien was so deep that ¾ of the time I didn’t know what she was saying but I sportingly ooohh and aaahhh at her every sentence. Of course the best part was buying mushrooms & Lingzhi products at discounted prices because our guide is a regular who buys in bulk whenever she’s there.

After that, we decided we didn’t need our guide any more and drove off on our own and made a nostalgic stop at Morib. We’ve not been there for ages and stopped just long enough to buy 2 burgers for S’s kids. Then it was back to good ole Klang!! Doesn't this trip just reminds you of the times in school when we used to go for trips & excursions ??

pics from tanjung sepat!

This a a view of the Lover's bridge. Its connected to a famous restaurant called OCEN seafood restaurant. No i did not not misspell it !!! Its spelled like that , Don't ask me if its suppose to be OCEAN or if it means "oh-chen" which is fried oysters in Chinese!!! Beats me!

These are taken at the Mushroom farm. I know u don't see the mushrooms here. I got a bit bored listening to how the mushrooms are cultivated. The lady was speaking in a dialect much too complex for my ears. So i wandered off to see the scenery at the back of the farm. Its way more interesting than all that info!!!

i will leave the rest of this post to the other 2 FEMS. i am sure they can do a better job than me. I was just there for the food and nothing else!!! That's why i am the E , for EATING!!!!
